A new era
A new era
Dec 22, 2020

At the start of 2020 we entered a year of transformation, a hero’s journey of trials and tribulations. It was heralded in the skies by the very rare occurrence of multiple major cycles all occurring simultaneously:

  • The January Saturn / Pluto 34 year cycle,
  • the July Jupiter / Pluto 12.5 year cycle,
  • and this final December Jupiter / Saturn 20 and 200 year cycle.

I spoke of the mystical Phoenix, and how from the dead ashes of old, our newly hatched bird would start to grow wings.

Well, it’s time to fly. It’s time to change the world as we know it, and each one of us holds the magic power to do just that.

The Solstice Star

It's finally here folks, an EPIC new AIR epoch!  The great conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius has finally become exact!

I'm referring to what I think of as the 'Solstice star', and what the media has been calling the 'Christmas star'.  It is the visual coming together of the two giant chroniclers of humankind’s story, Saturn and Jupiter.

In ancient times Saturn was called Chronos, the god of time that initiates and ends seasons. Saturn was the furthest visible planet, and as such represented the boundaries of earth cycles.

The next visible planet was Jupiter, also known as Zeus, the sky god. The sky was thought to be the source of all light, and as the brightest planet, Jupiter ruled over the skies.

The ancient planetary symbols of heaven and earth have come together in the closest visible configuration since the thirteenth century, and the most visually startling in our lifetimes.

Saturn and Jupiter

Saturn and Jupiter are the slowest planets, and therefore have the biggest impact on humankinds long term trends.

SATURN'S ending cycle ran from December 2017 until now in Capricorn.  It brought structural breakdowns and changes in society.  The new cycle that has just begun continues in the sign of Aquarius until March 2023.  We now start to envision and rebuild.

The last time Saturn was in Aquarius was in the early 1990’s – the Berlin wall was brought down, Apartheid was abolished, and the Soviet Union was dissolved.  Similar themes can be expected, both personally and for humanity as a whole.

JUPITER has spent the last year in Capricorn, and now moves into Aquarius until December 2021. Jupiter's new cycle will help magnify insights and opportunities in the rebuild.

Mid May until the end of July 2021 Jupiter has a brief sojourn in its home sign of Pisces.  This will boost our hopes of how much better it can get in 2022.

Humankinds new journey

Jupiter and Saturn conjoin every 20 years.  The 'Great conjunction' cycle that just ended therefore began in May 2000.

Every 200 years they start coming together in a new elementary sign - which is called the "Great mutation".  That is what happened at the Solstice. We have now officially entered into the new AIR element era.  Jupiter and Saturn will now be coming together in air signs for the next 200 years.

Today humankind breezes into a new world view. Our outlook and values will start leaving the realms of earthy Capricorn, and start to ride the winds of Aquarius.

In April to June 2020 we had a brief insight into the possible Aquarian changes that are coming - it's definitely easier going forward though!  We also had a brief Libra air peek in 1980/81 - birth of the internet!

The last air element conjunctions were from 1186 to 1405.  They brought technology, Universities, wider paper use, and the spreading of education beyond church members.

Take note of what comes up now, next few weeks. It will be significant for the next few hundred years. Possible new cryptocurrencies and new ideas with long lasting impact. We'll use the tools and resources we have to start recycling old ideas into new creations.

Airy Aquarius

Aquarius is still symbolically ruled by Saturn, so we are still bound by the earthly laws of time, matter and gravity. As such, change will take time. What is exciting is that we will start to look beyond “the way it’s always been”, and start to imagineer new ways of taking part in the world, potentially aimed at the greater good.

We all have the sign of Aquarius somewhere in our charts. Symbolically, that is the area of life that we influence change, in our own unique way. You can’t get it wrong, because it doesn’t exist yet.

In the words of Mark Twain, “Don’t dream your life, but live your dream”. Idealistic sure, but all great inventions, changes, and transcendent stories (such as his) start in the imagination. It’s time.

All of this will take time. And of course, we won’t live off manna from heaven and faith alone.

However, it will change, it is changing. Climate change will become notable.  And we'll start to move from a materialistic patch of land to citizens of the world joined by values and ethics rather than borders. We'll build new social and political communities.

If you step aside from old measurements of success such as money for a moment - think of how much you’ve really accomplished this year. How much you've learnt, overcome, changed. It may have been largely internal, but its time now to make that more real, and incorporate it in your life in more meaningful and tangible ways. Family, values, ways of working etc.

Aquarius is where you change the world. Its your unique contribution to humanity that no-one else has. It’s the unique combination of your experiences, knowledge, inspiration and vision. Its inventing something your way. Therefore, you can’t get it wrong. No-one knows the right way, there are no roads, its in the process of being imagineered.

In mid Jan 2021 there's a bit of a crazy shakeup (possible Covid #’s expansion).  Uranus and Mars in Taurus square Jupiter in Aquarius. For the rest of 2021 we'll be laying foundational ideas for a new world and new ways.

Triple blessings of light

In Astrological symbology, all light comes from the skies, in the form of however you see the source of what is beyond matter. From ancient humans perspective, it was thought light (and divine knowledge) was shined in from the cosmos, from the heavenly spheres – or the 7 visible planets.

We are therefore in a very special triple blessing of light moment.

We've just had the Summer Solstice - the longest day.  We've also just experienced a great conjunction with brightest visible planet, and the moon is growing in light towards the first quarter.

We are saying goodbye to the old, and taking flight on the wings of this new elemental air cycle. We are breathing in a new dawn, let it give you the hope and wonder of a new way.

Take this time to review where you’ve been over the last 3 years and to leave it in the ashes of 2020. Note where the wings of heartfelt values have blessed your soul path, and start to dream what’s next.

Magical Wishes

I wish you all the light and blessings in the Cosmos.  May you and yours have a magical festive season, and take a new era of hope into the new year.
