Well hello December, holy shmoly the year has whooshed by!
This month I’m going to return to Astro basics – what it is, and why its magical.
I’m also going to just be grateful for being, and doing what I love, so I’ve scheduled 3 free webinars during the month (More info here).
This is my everything gift to you (Birthday, Christmas, Diwali, Hanukkah, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Thanksgiving, Solstice, Yule, Litha, and whatever other lovely festive days you celebrate).
These webinars are aimed at your bright shiny sun sign. The aim is to share how just that one single piece of your sky magic map (birth chart) can help you understand, grow and evolve in life.
Astrology is a system
Your first breath is a wondrous cosmic interaction that inscribes the map of your karma onto your birth chart. It holds the promise of what your unique starlight can manifest here on the earth.
Astrology is mystical
Why use Astrology?
If the weather personality (man, sexy lady or floof monster) says there’s an 80% chance of thunderstorms, it may be a good idea to take your raincoat!
So too in Astrology, if it’s a good time to have fun, don’t work all week-end! Take the opportunity to revel in joy that will create epic memories, or at the very least warm your heart far longer than Saturday spreadsheets.
Your birth chart is the promise of your cosmic potential. It shows you the challenges your soul has undertaken to navigate in this world, and the opportunities you can use to help your soul evolve, grow, and shine as brightly as it can.
Big breath, wistful sigh, now what?
Sun signs
Lets start with the ubiquitous sun sign, which was only ‘invented’ in the 20th century. Alan Leo took one wee piece of the Astro model (the sun sign), and served it like a hors d'oeuvres. Information in one bite, separate from the whole horoscope.
There are 7 traditional planets, 3 universal planets, 12 signs, 4 elements, and 3 modes .
The sun is one single part of that.
(If your eyes blurred over the numbery things that’s perfectly ok – just Astro geek-ing is just to make a point!)
If you don’t always to relate to what you read in Horoscopes, please don’t fret, you don’t have the whole story, just an opening line!
What is a sun sign?
Your birthday dictates which piece of pie (Sign) your sun lands in.
Starting around the 21st of March, it’s an Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, or Pisces … slice of pie.
The sun hangs out in each sign for about a month (approximately the 21st to the 21st of each month). So anyone born between the 21st of Movember and December has a Sagittarius sun sign.
If you don’t know what your sun sign is, or you were born between the 20th and the 23rd of a month, you can
use this guide to find your sun sign.
How to use your Sun sign
A sun sign CANNOT encompass an entire description of who, what and how you are in society. It will never describe the complexity of a soul in a body, in a place, in a world, in the universe with a few keywords. I believe we have free choice. So although there is a high probability of a particular event occurring, if it happens, and how it happens, is up to the person and their personal journey.
What a sun sign CAN do is show you where to put your energy, and how to go about do it, so that you can move towards fulfilling your primary drivers.
An easy way to do this is using the elements.
Sun Sign Elements
In traditional Western Astrology, the 12 signs are assigned to one of the 4 elements,
Fire, Earth, Air and Water.
Your sun sign element shows how you express yourself. In brief:
So what is the difference between an Aries fire sign, a Leo fire sign, and a Sagittarius fire sign?
An
Aries person expresses themselves by ‘doing’, a
Sagittarian uses their energy to ‘seek’, and a
Leo
uses their energy to just ‘be’ regal (because it makes things happen).
Let’s use the first sign, Aries as an example.
An Aries Archetype is a fireman, strong, brave, and action orientated (that passion translates to racy activities too ;-).
Another Aries person may literally work with fire, like a jeweller.
Perhaps you’re demure and quiet, and all that talk about action is making you rather uncomfortable … I would still bet you do a secret happy dance in your closet after winning a scrabble game!

Astro weather this week
1 December the mystique in the world gets more powerful, and our mystic abilities become more accessible to us. This is great for accessing magic, not so great for doing tax returns, so ask your person if you’re not clear on exactly what you are seeing or sensing.
(Neptune goes direct).
4 December
is a new moon in Sagittarius. It is also a solar eclipse, and ends the 18 month Gemini – Sagittarius eclipse cycle. This one will be visible in the Southern parts of the globe (details here).
Themes you’ve been working on around communicating, connecting, expanding, and understanding your own truth are being wrapped up. There may still be a few surprises in store though as the affects from this eclipse can last a few months!
Wishing you a festive start to December, may it bring you a wonderful sense of joy, and a well needed wind-down.
Hope to see you in the ZUI room (Zoom hui, or social gathering)
Starlight sprinkles,
